The following folder is removed:
Path / value: /Project Title Blocks
Title blocks must not be stored externally as standalone project folder content.
Title blocks must exist only inside Revit project files.
The current title block reference location is:
Path / value: \\192.168.1.99\Technology\Revit\Title_Blocks
This location is the current working source for reviewing existing S3 Design, Inc. title block families before they are consolidated into fewer Revit families with multiple types.
S3 title blocks must be organized by title block archetype first and sheet size second.
Approved title block archetypes:
Archetype: Horizontal
Use: Standard landscape title block for most project sheets. Use this as the primary construction document title block format for 24x36 and larger sheets.
Archetype: Vertical
Use: Portrait title block for small-format sketches, RFIs, supplemental sheets, and conceptual sheets where vertical orientation is required. Vertical title blocks are not the standard construction document format unless specifically approved for a project.
Archetype: Presentation
Use: Presentation-board title block for graphics, renderings, mood boards, concept packages, client presentations, and design review material. Presentation title blocks are not the standard sealed construction document format unless specifically approved.
Sheet size determines the default document use.
Sheet Size: 8.5x11
Default Use: RFI sheets, sketches, supplemental issue sheets, and small-format documentation
Allowed Archetypes: Horizontal, Vertical
Sheet Size: 11x17
Default Use: Conceptual sheets, review sheets, meeting sketches, and reduced-format coordination sheets
Allowed Archetypes: Horizontal, Vertical, Presentation
Sheet Size: 12x18
Default Use: Conceptual sheets, review sheets, and small-format presentation or coordination sheets
Allowed Archetypes: Horizontal, Vertical, Presentation
Sheet Size: 18x24
Default Use: Conceptual sheets, intermediate review sheets, and presentation or coordination sheets
Allowed Archetypes: Horizontal, Vertical, Presentation
Sheet Size: 24x36
Default Use: Construction documents and permit / bid / issue sets
Allowed Archetypes: Horizontal, Presentation
Sheet Size: 30x42
Default Use: Construction documents for larger-format project requirements
Allowed Archetypes: Horizontal, Presentation
Sheet Size: 36x48
Default Use: Construction documents for large-format project requirements
Allowed Archetypes: Horizontal, Presentation
Use classification rules:
8.5x11 sheets are used for RFIs, sketches, and supplemental small-format documentation.
All sheet sizes smaller than 24x36 are conceptual, review, sketch, or coordination formats unless the project BIM Execution Plan explicitly approves another use.
24x36 and larger sheets are construction document formats.
Presentation title blocks may be used at any approved presentation size, but presentation title blocks do not replace construction document title blocks for permit, bid, or issued construction document sets unless approved.
The title block family set must be consolidated into fewer Revit families with size-based family types.
Target family structure:
Target Family: Horizontal title block family
Required Types: 8.5x11, 11x17, 12x18, 18x24, 24x36, 30x42, 36x48
Target Family: Vertical title block family
Required Types: 8.5x11, 11x17, 12x18, 18x24
Target Family: Presentation title block family
Required Types: 11x17, 12x18, 18x24, 24x36, 30x42, 36x48
Office, consultant, and issue variations such as Florida or consultant title block variants should be handled with family types, visibility settings, or controlled parameters wherever practical. Separate standalone families should be used only when a Revit technical limitation or approved project requirement makes a separate family necessary.
