Effective 2026-05-01, the following content is not allowed in project folders:
Revit families (.rfa)
Revit materials
This restriction is enforced by Cinch IT.
All approved BIM content must be stored on:
Path / value: T:\
Project folders are not approved storage locations for Revit families or Revit materials.
Users may place content requiring review in:
Path / value: T:\WIP\
Rules for T:\WIP\:
Content must be clearly named and organized.
Content must not be used directly in production without review.
The location is a temporary staging area only.
Content placed in T:\WIP\ is subject to DT Cadre review, reorganization, rejection, removal, or promotion to an approved library.
Required workflow:
User submits content to T:\WIP\.
DT Cadre reviews the submitted content.
DT Cadre organizes the content if it is suitable for library use.
Content is either approved or rejected.
Approved content is moved to the structured library.
Rejected content is returned or removed.
Only DT Cadre / Design Technology may promote WIP content into approved libraries.
Project teams must not bypass the review process by copying unapproved families, materials, or other controlled BIM content into production locations.
Target before 2027:
All approved BIM content will migrate to Autodesk Content Catalog within the Forma Data Management ecosystem.
